Charles Leclerc says the SF-23 “feels good” after completing two laps around the Ferrari test track in Maranello. Ferrari gave fans a first glimpse of their 2023 challenger on track with the Monegasque at the wheel, following the unveiling of the car. Despite the limited milage, Leclerc was upbeat about how the car felt having spent most of the winter doing laps in the simulator. “It feels good. I mean, the first kilometres with these new projects after doing so many kilometres on the simulator, it feels special,” said Leclerc during the launch event. “Everything went smoothly, [but] obviously with two laps it’s difficult to go into details. “But I already gave my feedback once I was in the car there to the engineers to get the first feeling. The car was running well, smooth, everything went really well.” Article continues below gallery. Leclerc gives Sainz advice Carlos Sainz will drive three laps in the car later today and Leclerc gave him some advice before getting behind the wheel. “The car feels good mate! It turns right when you turn right, it brakes when you brake, loads of power, so everything feels good. You’ll see mate.” Ferrari will hope the SF-23 will be an improvement on the general reliability of its predecessor, as the team look to mount a challenge to Red Bull for the Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles in 2023.
